ALA has posted Steven Cohen's article “8 Steps for Keeping Current”
(PDF). Steven is generally brilliant, and this article is no
exception. If you're a manager or administrator, front line librarian,
back-room library staff, or my mom, you'll find this article useful.
My favorite (perhaps because it appeals to the “weeder” in me) is #6:
Purge. Delete RSS feeds and bookmarks that you don't use anymore. Get
yourself off of listservs that aren't doing it for you anymore. Wading
through useless stuff is not helping you.
