Spam belt tightening done badly rejects legitimate mail

Spam belt tightening done badly rejects legitimate mail. Wanadoo, the French ISP, recently volunteered its entire dial-up IP range to the SMTP blacklists: BTOpenworld, a leading UK ISP, followed suit last week. Yahoo is touting their own proprietary extensions to SMTP; BT recently managed to mess up the DNS configuration of post.btinternet.com, resulting in them getting RBL'd. If several Small – and major – ISPs cannot configure their servers correctly such that mail can get through, what hope is there? [Advogato]
