Apple rebuked for ad claims by UK watchdog

Apple rebuked for ad claims by UK watchdog Apple has been rebuked for its G5 speed claims again by the UK's advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Authority, who received two complaints about Apple's ads, both “challenging not only the Mac maker's speed claim but its insistence that the G5 was 'the first [computer] with a 64-bit processor' and that 'the systems built around the G5 can shatter the 4GB memory ceiling that limits every other PC on earth,'” according to The Register. Apple was told not to make across the board claims about the G5 speed, saysing that the independent tests may have configured the Power Mac G5 with an “unfair advantage.”  [The Macintosh News Network]
