Wow, I hope this is true (it is!).  The Director of the CIA, George Tenet to resign.  Tenet presided over two of the worst intelligence disasters in our history during his watch as the Director.  Why is our system of governance so slow to hold security services accountable?  It doesn't stop there.

The entire security system is broken and it is likely to stay that way.  Why?  Virtually all security jobs in the US require (both in the government and with contractors) an active security clearance in order to apply.  Further, security clearances are backlogged by hundreds of thousands of applicants and are only given to existing personnel.  This means:  we are breathing our own exhaust.  We aren't bringing in the outside talent necessary to fix a broken system.
