You call that a backup plan?

You call that a backup plan?. As discussed with many people, the fact of the matter is, as a one-man shop, if I got hit by a bus tomorrow, this place would be in a world of hurt. There are simply too many things that I know how to do that absolutely no one else knows how to do. I've been warning them that this could lead to a very bad situation since 1999, but no one listens. For example, if, for some reason, they wanted to fire me, I'm the only one with the access and know-how to disable my own network access.

It occurs to me this morning that not only am I the only one who knows how to do membership billing, I'm the only person with access to produce the invoices and I'm the only one who can change someone else's access so that they could do invoices! So if I did get hit by that proverbially bus tomorrow, all billing would cease. That's not going to be good for business…:) [Life of a one-man IT department]
