AT&T Customers Change Addresses – Again

“Last year customers of @Home were forced to change their e-mail addresses to @attbi.com when the company was bought-out by AT&T Broadband. Now Comcast has purchased AT&T Broadband and fun begins again. Apparently all attbi.com addresses will be changed over to comcast.net. The last time this happened a lot of people were fairly annoyed and more people will be affected this time around. I expect a fairly big stink when this hits the fan.” [Lockergnome's Bits and Bytes]

This, ladies and gentlemen, is one reason I started my site a year ago today. I was mourning the loss of the email account I'd had since 1995, and I didn't want to ever have to change it again due to ISP turnover. I was contemplating what to name my site, and then it hit me while I was experimenting with the just-released Radio 8. I registered the domain name, and now this little switchover from AT&T to Comcast won't affect me at all. My neighbors, on the other hand, who just switched from AOL to AT&T, are going to be quite peeved.  [The Shifted Librarian]
